According to the Finnish Center for Occupational Health and Safety, the client is responsible for Occupational Health and Safety at the construction site. The client ensures that the place of work is safe and healthy. The client must be aware of the dangers at the workplace and be able to handle them. It is also the responsibility of the client to provide the contractor with the necessary information and skills to carry out the work in a safe manner.

At the construction site, the main contractor familiarizes both the employee and the subcontractor with the construction site. In addition, the special features of the work in terms of occupational health and safety should be familiarized during the occupational health and safety training. In occupational health and safety, working conditions in the workplace are in order, both physically and socially.

In general, occupational health and safety includes social, mental and physical working conditions at the workplace. Therefore, occupational health and safety must be present at construction sites, and the working environment must be as safe as possible.
